What Is a Great Credit Score?
You want a new house. Perhaps a new car? Or even just some credit cards. All of these desires are denied or granted based on your credit score. So what is considered a good score? Scores can range from 300 to 850.
In the United States, these scores come from 3 different credit agencies
Experian
Equifax
Transunion
800 and Above
Exceptional
Ability to purchase home, car at the best possible rates when combined with income source.
740-799
Very Good
Ability to get a credit card, apply for any loan both mortgage and installment highly likely with source of income.
670-739
Good
Recommended minimum credit score to buy a car, but not necessarily at the best possible interest rates. Rental applications also a min, as it is considered a measure of responsbility.
580-669
Fair
Ability to rent a apartment or home is questionable. Some employers may even deny employment.
300-579
Poor
Ability to rent a apartment or home is questionable. Some employers may even deny employment.
